Yes, you can purchase the tabard if you are not in a guild however, it will be blank. If you join a guild at a later date the tabard will update to your current guild design

To create a guild, follow the steps below:

• Find a Guildmaster NPC in any of the major cities.
• Acquire a Guild Charter from the Guildmaster for 10 silver.
• Have 9 other players sign the Guild Charter.
• Place the Guild Charter in your main bag.
• Return the Guild Charter to any Guildmaster.
• You have created a guild!

If you wish to quit the guild you are currently in, you may do so by typing /gquit in the chat window. If you are the guild master, you will need to either assign a new guild master then /gquit or you can just /gdisband to dissolve the guild entirely.

At this time, players need nine additional signatures on a guild charter in order to start a guild. If at any time a player who has signed your guild charter joins another guild, you will get an error stating that you need more signatures. The guild master will then return the charter without that signature and you will need to have it replaced.

A tabard is a piece of clothing you wear over your armor. It shows other people that you are a member of a guild.

If a guildmaster suddenly quits or stops playing, the guild can be left without access to much of the guild functionality and no way to replace him. If this happens, please wait 30 days to give the guildmaster time to return. If he does not, please petition the Game Master staff for help promoting a replacement.
